scooter

lucy had her 1 year check-up today with dr. surka. other than the fact that it took two hours and was during naptime, all went well.

lucy stats are...
weight: 20lbs. 15oz. 50%
height: 29.75 in. 75%
head: 18.5 in. 90%

this little girl is definitely growing.

we discussed the fact that she is not liking milk at all. no problem though, because she is such a great eater, dr. surka says she will actually be fine without milk but she will probably learn to like it.

the majority of our convo was discussing the fact that lucy does not stand up, pull up, or is anywhere near walking. probably no big deal but he was a little concerned (as am I) that she doesn't want to put weight on her feet sometimes.

he examined the folds on her legs and did notice that she has an additional fold on the back of her right leg that she doesn't have on the back of her left leg. that discovery plus the observations that I have made about not pulling up led him to believe that lucy needs an ultrasound of her hips. just to be on the safe side.

hopefully, nothing is abnormal, but I will feel better knowing. Since lucy is a girl, born c-section because she was breech, it makes sense. I mean look at the picture of her birth...they had to pull her out by her legs...wouldn't be surprised if something gotta a little loose in there!

I will definitely post about the outcome of our ultrasound. for now...happy scootin luce!

happy birthday

it's official. lucy is one. wow.

lucy enjoyed a birthday pancake this morning with some delicious blueberries. don't you love the crossed feet...everytime!!

off to school she went decked out in her party dress (pics to come).

of course she chose Taco Dog for her birthday lunch and was surprised when she got a birthday cupcake from Publix. patrick was very proud of himself for sharing HER cupcake with her!

she loved the cupcake.

after swimming lessons and a nap, lucy had a quick visit with her granny-great (and Papa). she was quite enthralled with her musical card.

birthday dinner. wades. the birthday tradition begins for lucy.
joe, katie, and crew met us (in keeping with the tradition) for dinner.
lucy had a feast...mac and cheese, hashbrown casserole, sweet potatoes, fried okra, crackers, yeast rolls, and an ice cream sundae to top it all off!

she was quite serious during the singing of the birthday song...not sure she knew it was her birthday (even though Will did ask her but she gave no response).

a quick stop by Lib and Teve's on the way home

overall...the best birthday she's ever had...her "golden" birthday at that!
